National Assistance League
There are 120 chapters of Assistance League stretching across the United States. In 2013 – 14, the total number of people who received services from the programs of all chapters of Assistance League was 1.52 million. Operation School Bell alone, provided assistance to over 370,000 recipients.
The 23,000 members of Assistance League make a difference in so many ways, providing physical, financial and emotional support to their local communities. Each chapter tailors its programs to meet the specific needs of its community. Assistance League continues to uphold the vision of its founder, Mrs. Hancock Banning, who felt a duty, in her own words, “to act as a friend at any and all times to men, women and children in need of care, guidance and assistance.”
